CATTID
The digital technologies are the deep innovation that has interested the networks and the mass media, involving large sectors of economy in terms not only technological, but business models, organization of production and work and the terms of consumption.
In this context is integrating C. A. T. T. I. D. (Centre of Applications for Television and Digital Technology Innovation) of "La Sapienza" University of Rome, active since 1988, which operates in terms inter-departmental, inter-university and in collaboration with some of the most important enterprises of the sectors most involved in the processes of research and great digital convergence.
Today C. A. T. T. I. D. represents an important reality at national and European level in areas where in recent years has been expressed. A position achieved from the skills acquired from different departments and faculties of the University of Rome "La Sapienza", including Sciences of Communications, Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering, Economics and Commerce, Electronic Engineering, Medicine and Sociology. In 2006 Oracle and Intel, with a mutual strategic cooperation, decided to give a significant boost to the development of the potential of centre in a short time, thanks to its intense and fruitful activity in the landscape of Information Technology, has also drawn attention of many national and international companies, including: IBM, Cisco, Ericsson, Telecom, Sun and the Group “Poste Italiane”. The importance of experiments in progress at the center of research, then led to the signing of several reports of collaboration with important national and international companies; such as the CNIPA (National Centre for Informatics in the Public Administration), the FUB (Ugo Bordoni Foundation), the CNR (National Research Council), the Presidency of the Council of Italian Manufacturers' Association (Confindustria); and international such as ETSI (European Telecommunication Standard Institute).
